Robb’s 125th Street Grill, Site of the Christmas Lunch

Mature Friends’ Christmas Lunch

Every year in mid-December, large number of Mature Friends get together in true holiday fashion for a Christmas lunch. Held in Seattle on a Saturday preceding Christmas, Mature Friends gather in a private dining room at Robb’s 125th Street Bar and Grill. This festive occasion kicks off with a rousing cocktail hour (or two).

We know what you’re thinking: Christmastime gay get-togethers mean an obligatory white-elephant gift exchange. Boring! But not so any more! Our members have voted to replace the usual white-elephant gift exchange with donations of new, unwrapped toys to give to Toys for Tots. It’s a great way to celebrate the holiday season while also making local, disadvantaged children the recipients of a gift for Christmas.

But it’s not all about giving. To further tempt members to participate, the lunch is also about receiving, in the form of door prizes! But even if the chance to make a kid happy doesn’t tempt you nor the chance to make yourself happy with a fine door prize, then the camaraderie, great cocktails, and Robb’s fine menu should definitely do the trick.

On Saturday, December 15, 2018, everybody had a great time at the Christmas Lunch.  As usual Robb’s 125th Bar and Grill was our venue for a rousing no-host cocktail hour followed by a three-course lunch.  The private room was decorated to the nines — better than ever before.  This year 40 members attended (four of whom were new members at their first Mature Friends function). Over 50 new, unwrapped gifts were collected for Toys for Tots.  This organization knows who we are and is very appreciative of our generosity and interest.  HAPPY NEW YEAR to all! See you next year at the Christmas Lunch!
