On April 29, 2015, six Mature Friends set sail on a five-day cruise from Vancouver, B.C., to Alaska and back down to dock at Pier 91. Our Mature Sailors caught the Wednesday morning Amtrak from Seattle up to Vancouver, where they embarked onto the Princess Ruby. Once aboard ship, they relaxed and enjoyed a welcome lunch as the ship cast off and set a course for Ketchican.
Cruising past deep green forests, which contrasted against the snow-capped mountains, this early season salt-water sailing passed some of the most breath-taking sights that Alaska has to offer.
Although some of the gift stores hadn't opened for the season, our sailors found shore excursions and places to see in the momentarily quiet town.
While aboard ship, they met several times with other gays during the LGBT meetings, which proved to be great fun. Four posed at one meeting.
And another picture with other gay sailors aboard the Ruby.
All six Mature Friends enjoyed the cruise, seeing the sights, and hobnobbing with other gay guys aboard.
